- Hurricane Ike
Whew, you don't really appreciate power, electrical that is, until you don't have any. We went without it for 10 days, last time I did that was in Zimbabwe, and come to think about it, we also slept under mosquito nets there and here during Hurricane Ike. So we managed and with large portions of luck, survived, shot and transmitted our photos of Ike to Polaris Images in New York for distribution to the world media. We documented every phase of the storm from preparation to clean-up and shared the plight of all in it's path. The monumental effort it takes to mount a response to a cataclysmic event such as Ike transcends the ordinary and requires extraordinary effort from numerous organizations working as an organic team to restore order out of chaos. Come, join me as I dodge rattlesnake strikes, flood waters and flying glass for a look through my lens as I cover Ike. |
